“What makes shame so dangerous is that where shame lives empathy is almost always absent.” - Brene Brown

I have had the privilege of working with individuals and families for the last twenty years. As a children and family pastor I had the privilege of helping families navigate relationships, parenting, and working with their children during crisis and major life transitions. As I started to do the work of untangling myself from religion I noticed what I loved most about being a pastor was the opportunity to hold a safe space for individuals and families to process what was hard and what was true about their relationships and parenting… How they were showing up to their lives and navigating crises.

In the recent years I’ve become a trauma informed ICF Certified Relationship Coach. This shift into coaching has been the most rewarding season of my career. I now have the opportunity to hold space for my clients to process life’s most difficult challenges without having any other agenda for them to find what is true and meaningful for them in each experience. I no longer have an agenda other than to create safety for others to get quiet and share what is true in a safe space. To stay curious and continue to ask questions that help my clients recognize what is authentically true for them as individuals, partners and parents.
